Aspin ("the App") is developed by Works of Bryan ("we," "us," "our"). Aspin helps people care for their own pets and helps Filipino communities track, feed, and support "Aspins" (community street dogs). This policy explains what information Aspin collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
When you tag a stray dog or add a photo to your own pet's profile, the photo you select or capture is uploaded to our secure cloud storage (Firebase Storage). Photos are resized and compressed before upload; we do not intentionally collect or store the original file's embedded metadata (such as EXIF GPS coordinates) — only the pixel image data is uploaded.
Please avoid photographing other people, license plates, or house numbers when tagging a stray dog, since photos of tagged Aspins are visible to the whole community.
Aspin requests access to your device's location only when you are tagging a stray dog or centering the community map. This is used to:
The location you confirm when tagging a dog — the dog's approximate whereabouts, not your personal address — is stored with that dog's public profile so the community can find and help it. We do not track or store your device's location in the background, and we do not build a history of everywhere you personally have been.
Sighting logs, feeding notes, naming-poll votes, and reports you submit are stored in our database and, aside from reports, may be visible to other users of the App. Reports you submit (for incorrect sightings, profile corrections, or fraud/abuse) are only visible to us for moderation.
If you use Aspin to manage your own pet(s), the pet's name, species, breed, age, gender, photos, birthday, and reminders you create are private to your device's account and are not shown to other users.
Aspin uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to give your device a random identifier. This lets the App keep track of your own pets and your community activity (like which dogs you follow) without requiring you to create an account, provide an email address, or provide your name. We do not link this identifier to your real-world identity.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Stray-dog photos, tagged locations, names given via community naming polls, and sighting logs are visible to all users of the App, by design — this is a public community directory. Your own pets' private information is never shared with other users.

Every stray dog's profile includes a "Report" option so the community can flag incorrect sightings, request profile corrections, or report fraud or abuse. Reports are reviewed by our team, and we reserve the right to remove any content, or restrict a device's ability to post, at our discretion — including content that is offensive, unsafe, misleading, or violates these terms.
Aspin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted network connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access-controlled cloud infrastructure, to protect information handled by the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
